Coaches

Brian Fischer

Brian has devoted his entire professional career as a fitness coach and massage therapist to impacting the lives of others by working alongside his clients and athletes, helping them to take their next steps on their journey towards better health, fitness and performance. Brian believes that everyone can become a fitter and more athletic version of themselves, no matter how unfit or athletic they are now.

Brian works hard to appreciate the value and importance of a fit lifestyle, for himself and those he works with. And as a still competing athlete of daily living who manages chronic back and knee issues, a business owner and entrepreneur, a husband, and father to two wonderful boys, Brian understands the challenges that people face trying to fit fitness into their everyday lives. He uses these experiences and extensive knowledge to provide outcome-based coaching in movement, recovery, nutrition and mindset to help develop training programs and massage therapy sessions specific to the needs and wants of each client and athlete he works with. Brian would love the opportunity to help coach, educate and inspire you to live, move and feel better, so you can do the things that you want and need to do in life!

Zac Simon

Zac Simon is originally from Bloomington, IL and moved to Cedar Rapids in 2018 to complete his undergraduate degree at Coe College. While at Coe he was involved with football and then interning in the weight room during the last two years of his time there. He graduated with a degree in Kinesiology in 2022 and enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa that fall. In the spring of 2024 Zac completed his Graduate Assistantship, and graduated with his masters degree in Exercise Science.

Zac grew familiar with training in high school through athletics, and while at Coe had the opportunity to complete an internship at Coe College with the Strength and Conditioning staff as well as with the Iowa Football Strength and Conditioning staff. Once at UNI he assisted with many teams, as well as being the main strength and conditioning coach for the Women’s Tennis teams and groups of the Track and Field team as well. This past year he was at the University of Denver and had the opportunity to coach the Golf teams, Dive teams, and the Women’s Tennis team in the weight room throughout the school year.

After accumulating all of this experience he can’t wait to have the opportunity to help individuals improve in the Cedar Rapids area. He has the knowledge to help you on your individual fitness journey, wants to help you lead a healthy lifestyle, and takes steps through fitness to help you accomplish the goals you have in daily life or performance.

David Johnson

Greetings! My name is David Johnson! I am here to help you strive to thrive, & accomplish your desired fitness goals! I aspire to inspire! I love to assist individuals in reaching their goals, & breaking down barriers that they did not think that they could knock down! God gives his hardest tasks to his strongest soldiers. The race isn't given to the swift, or to the strong... but to the one who endures to the end!

Everyday you live to see; remember that there are people who believe in you! One’s counting on you, & working with you! Not just against you. When we become lazy, it’s not fair to those who are in and behind our corner. Continue to grow in grace, & strengthen in every aspect of life! Remember, that every Test in our life can become a TESTIMONY. A Mess can become a MESSAGE. Trials can be slayed into TRIUMPHS, & Victims can turn into VICTORS!

I can't wait to help you start writing your next chapter here at Edge Fitness!
